Concrete Staining Auckland

concrete staining in auckland new zealand

Concrete staining is the best way to refresh or decorate your concrete with a new look and add character. Our concrete color staining, sealing and color restoration service provides customers with long lasting color stained concrete for a whole new look or appearance. Wether your concrete is brand new or has seen years of traffic, color staining will achieve a completely new solid finish over the surface.

Concrete Staining Finishes

Concrete does wear and fade with time so our concrete staining & restoration is a great service to keep a high presentation level on your concrete. There are several finishes available including:

  • solid color stains – which like the name suggests an opaque thick solid color.
  • translucent stain – which is like a clear water color.
  • faux finishes
  • antiqued or marbled finish – using multiple colors.
  • two-tone finishes – using two separate colors in the same areas by having colored areas and borders.

Once stained the concrete will act like regular concrete, it will wear just like standard concrete. The stain will slowly fade over the years and somewhere between year 5 to 9 you will need to book a “maintenance re-color stain.” This is very economical and a fraction of the cost of initial staining.

What Colors Can I Choose For My Concrete Stain?

Your options will vary depending on whether you are using an acid or water-based stain. With acid stains, your color choices will be limited. Most manufacturers offer only eight hues, mostly subtle earth tones, such as tans, browns, terra cottas, and soft blue-greens. Although the basic color palette is limited, you can mix two or more stain colors before we apply it to achieve a different shade or apply one color over another. You can also create deeper color effects with a stain by applying two separate coats.

If you want to go beyond the understated drama and limited color palette of acid staining, water-based acrylic stains will supply you with a much broader spectrum of shades to choose from. Most manufacturers offer dozens of standard colors, including black and white and even metallic tints. And in many cases, the different colors can be mixed, like water-based paints, to expand your options.
